2027 Toyota Yaris Origin EV

The Toyota Yaris one of the most successful supermini cars in the world. Since 1999, more than 10 million Yarises have been sold worldwide, with the first 3 generations being known as Vitz in the Japanese market. The "Yaris" nameplate was also applied to other models. Some examples are: the Yaris Verso (European version of the FunCargo; sold between 1999 and 2005), the US-Spec 3rd gen Yaris (a rebadged 3rd gen Mazda 2 Sedan), the 3rd & 4th gen Asian versions of the Yaris (hatchback version of the Vios sedan) and of course the Yaris Cross, a subcompact crossover produced since 2020 and being sold in Europe, Japan and Australasia.
Nowadays, there's a new trend going around on car manufacturers, in which they're creating two different models with the same nameplate: A petrol one with hybrid versions and a BEV one. Both cars are sharing the same name, but they have completely different designs. Some examples: BMW X3 & iX3, Mercedes-Benz GLC & GLC EQ Technology, Toyota C-HR & C-HR+, Volkswagen Polo & ID.POLO. What about bringing this trend to the successful Yaris, by creating a new electric Yaris?
Here's my inspiration for a purely electric Yaris: The new car will pay hommage to the first-generation Yaris, by having a design similar to it. For this render, I used as a base model the 2018 Pixis Epoch, a Japanese kei-car with size similar to the first-gen Yaris. Front headlights, grille and side windows are completely redesigned, in order to look similar to the original Yaris. New upmarket parts were added (such as hidden door handles and modern side mirrors), in order to turn it into a worldwide-spec model.
Note that this isn't a new generation Yaris (which is planned to be a supermini hatchback, as the current model), but an alternative EV model that will share the same name with the regular Yaris. In addition, a new "Origin" nameplate will be added next to the "Yaris", in order to symbolize the new model's design similarity with the 1999 Yaris. Because of that, the new car will be considered as a kei car (or A-Segment city car in European market) and it will compete against the Honda Super-One and the Leapmotor T03.

This is not a new-generation Yaris, but an alternative electric model with the same nameplate, that will have the Honda Super-One as a rival
